The Danish Crown group is a global meat producer and processing company, among the largest in its field. The group is the World’s largest pork exporter and Europe’s largest pork processor. Established in 1887 as a cooperative for Danish farmers, the company has a rich heritage that places it firmly on the map and on the tables of consumers around the world.

Danish Crown remains a farmer cooperative today. We are owned by 1,000s of farmers who also are our suppliers. –Consequently, sustainability is our biggest priority. Our cooperative members comply with the highest standard farming practises and are rewarded for rearing the finest pigs. Together with dedicated and highly skilled butchers, veterinarians, technicians and researchers, all parties are united with the goal of producing the best pork in the world.

Danish Crown USA

Danish Crown established the first office in New Jersey in 1965. Danish pork exports to the USA consisted then of canned hams and picnics, shelf stable bacon and luncheon meats. In the early 1980s the first Danish Crown plants were given USDA approvals to export fresh frozen pork products and items like Danish baby back ribs, spareribs, riblets and a variety of boneless pork items have become Danish Crown legacy brands in the US pork industry.

As the USA division of one of the largest meat producers in the world, we have benefited from significant investment in farming and manufacturing processes, meaning our food safety and quality standards are second to none. With more than half a century of experience with import and distribution we own our supply chain from farm to table.
